Networking + Fun? Put Some Work Conversation Into Labor Day
Labor Day is dedicated to American workers – to celebrate their contribution to the American economy. This weekend, I hope you will be with family and friends, catching some of the last of summer treats—hiking, picnicking, swimming, boating, water skiing.
Whatever your choice of activities – even if it’s a movie – you have the opportunity to reach out and network with other workers. Nearly anyone can be a source of information and connection for you. Standing in line for popcorn, you can literally talk to your neighbors and make a connection. At the doggy park, you can find that animal lovers like you also have demanding jobs in nearby companies. Opportunities are all around you.
It’s as simple as starting a conversation.
If you’re feeling negatory, good buddy, I suggest a new look at networking by my friend and Networking Guru, Patti DeNucci. Read her quick blog for a change in attitude.
Then, read my article “Give, Give, Give, Get” to learn how you can help others with your networking.
Go have a great 3-day weekend, knowing that your Job Search is still moving forward, maybe better than ever!
On your side,
