Want more success? Be more likeable.

Who doesn’t want more success? Success means getting the job you want, having great relationships with family and friends. On an everyday level, it means having happy conversations, resolving issues with grace, creating less hassle and stress in your life.

In short, success means getting what you want, nicely.

We all know likeable people move to the front of the line, whether we are conscious of it or not. It doesn’t matter what you know, how you look, how hard-working or educated you are. What matters is whether you are easy to know, easy to get along with, and easy to work with.

Recently, one of my favorites sites, www.theladders.com, provided an article of the 13 Reasons Bosses Don’t Find You Likeable. Read this first if you have been let go from a job recently. In it, you may find the answer as to why they selected you, instead of someone else in the RIF or reorganization. Don’t beat up on yourself, just read the article and say, “Hmmm. I should remember that for next time.”

For a more uplifting message, read this one from the Huffington Post, “ 7 Reasons Likeable People Succeed.”

Hmmm, I couldn’t have said it better myself.
